LLUM BCN 2019: POBLENOU
Barcelona’s Light Festival returns for its 8th edition this Friday, February 15. The festival transforms the city —in this case, the Poblenou neighborhood— into a huge, open-air exhibition for artists, designers and architects who use light as a creative medium.
The idea is, for those involved in the festival, to explore new ways of using light and space, i.e. dynamic lighting, large-scale projection, interactive environments, etc. It’s all about experimentation and innovation. For Barcelona residents and tourists, it’s an opportunity to see the city in a new way.
There are 20 participants in this year’s edition. Prestigious international artists Rafael Lozano-Hemmer and Daniel Canogar, technologists Kyle McDonald and Joanie Lemercier, as well as students from Barcelona’s art, design, lighting and architecture schools will take part in the event.
