SERIE GÒTIC: PLAÇA SANT FELIP NERI

Plaça Sant Felip Neri5

One of the most beautiful and peaceful squares in all of Barcelona is the Plaça de Sant Felip Neri. Its history, however, is a tragic one. On January 30, 1938, two of General Franco’s bombs hit the square, killing 42 people, most of whom were children, and upended the surrounding buildings except for the church which still displays its pockmarked walls.
